THURSDAY SEPT 4TH – CIRCUIT DES YEUX, BOY HARSHER, BLACKRUNE

If you’re ready to feel – mark your calendars.

CIRCUIT DES YEUX has garnered critical acclaim for her new record, Overdue. She’s also received praise for her solo performance while touring with Bill Callahan and has supported acts such as Oneohtrix Point Never, Tim Hecker, Blues Control, Acid Mothers Temple and Keiji Haino. She played the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago and will play Austin Psych Fest, Suoni Fest, Issue Project Room, Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit and NXNE this summer.

As described by Pitchfork – “Haley Fohr knows how to dirge. There’s usually some darkness in the music she makes as Circuit Des Yeux, and often a lot of it. Drop your needle anywhere within her discography and even the most upbeat songs sound deadly serious. Her early records sometimes distanced that somber tone with thick distortion or hissy echo, which added mystery. But over time her work has become clearer, and Overdue, her fourth full-length, is the most direct, immediate record she’s made. It’s also her best.”

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 13TH – SUN ARAW, WEYES BLOOD, D/P/I, J ZAGERS

20140814_084605_sun-araw-banner1

Probably the trippiest night of the year. Just saying.

* Also as a gift someone once was gonna’ book me Weyes Blood ++ now it’s finally happening ++ it’s like the world is ending.

Jah direct it to Hang Fire y’all.

SUN ARAW – As described by the New York Times – “Sun Araw, led by Cameron Stallones on guitar, keyboards and echo-laden vocals, was set up like a band — two guitars, saxophone, drummer — but its music was a happy jungle of electronic repetition and live playing. Loops and echoes reconfigured reggae, funk and Afrobeat in dizzying ways; the music cackled and hopped, ready to trip up dancers or just get trippy in decidedly 21st-century grooves.”

WEYES BLOOD is the mysterious ghost folk project of Natalie Mering, (former member of Jackie-O Motherfucker, Axolotl). Weaving sound textures with delicate folk songs, Weyes Blood is truly bridge music, combining the sonic influences of tape experimentation with the ancient art of song. Her voice is singular and timeless, unadorned yet soulful and penetrating.
